Agave Denim has become known as “Pure West Coast Luxury.” And while this designer is certainly all about luxury menswear, would you believe that it all started out of the trunk of the founder’s car? And that today, it’s
really still family that drives this brand?

It’s true. In the early 2000s, Jeff Shafer saw a need for fashion denim for men that stretched beyond the typical jeans that are so often seen. Jeff envisioned fitted cuts, streamlined seams, and clean lines that took denim to a new level. It was in his own apartment that he started hand-sewing his pieces, which he would then move later to his showroom – the trunk of his car. Needing to take his brand one step further, Jeff held a launch party in Las Vegas in 2002 to officially open his line, and market it to investors and consumers alike.

It was still several years after this launch party that Jeff was still a one-man company; carrying out all tasks from production to customer service himself. By 2006 though, the company was larger and Jeff was able to move his family from Los Angeles to Ridgefield, Washington as he thought it was a better place to raise his sons.

One year later, Jeff’s wife Lauren, stepped away from her role as stay-at-home-mom and joined the company, creating fashion denim for women. Today, the brand still carries many lines of both styles, and is known to be one of the best denim brands for men and women!
