Many great artists, scientists and philosophers were recognized for their prodigious contributions to the world only long after they were dead, e.g. Vincent Van Gogh, Gregor Johann Mendel, Socrates, etc.
I never would of thunk it, but I believe Steve Urkel belongs in this canon.
(Yes, he is a fictional character, but I’m counting the final episode of Family Matters as a sort of “end” for Urkel).
Anyway, it turns out the hapless, accident-prone super nerd had more style than anyone gave him credit for, and namely, his glasses.
Nerd-chic glasses are everywhere and on everyone nowadays, including Justin Timberlake, Kayne West, Jay Z, and Brad Pitt.
In fact, if you think about it, Steve Urkel foreshadowed a lot of today’s trends: cropped pants, bow ties, saddle shoes, and even suspenders came back for a hot second. Food for thought…But anyway, his biggest contribution to men’s fashion is undoubtedly nerd-chic glasses.
(If only Laura could see Steve now.)
The trend has definitely found a home in Milwaukee and Shorewood. In fact, Harleys carries Eyebobs, a line of eclectic reading glasses for “the irreverent and slightly jaded” folks who distain drugstore cheapies but scoff at frames that cost as much as a mortgage payment.
Eyebobs takes classic eyeglass shapes and adds to them an array of funky color like neon green, blue, orange and more.
We have a wide selection of Eyebobs to choose from, so stop in the store and try them on.
